Faster, higher, stronger - not only Olympians live by such precepts, but also architects. With each of their projects they try not only to surpass all previous ones, but also to show the world something that it has not seen before. Such changes in standard approaches to building houses are not caused by a banal desire to stand out from their colleagues. Before our eyes, familiar objects are being adapted to the needs of the new modern person. Just as artificial intelligence does not stand still, the demands of owners of organic intelligence also change.
Transition from four walls to three

Houses triangular shape have become real estate trend in USA during the Second World War. Low-cost in construction, they are especially loved by local entrepreneurs and landlords. With their unusual A-shape, the buildings attracted foreign tourists and Americans who wanted to spend weekends or holidays in a secluded environment. Thus, both parties to the lease agreement were satisfied.
Now such properties are again enjoying considerable popularity on the market, so even a small mansion is worth a lot. Local realtors regularly publish announcements about the appearance of new products on the market, so thanks to the analysis of the public database, we were able to find the most budget-friendly and compact options in different parts of the United States. The shape and location make each such object unique. It seems that you are in a fairy-tale hut of a goblin.

Skyscrapers made of stone and brick
📍 Ellijay, Georgia, USA 🇺🇸
💰 $1.4 million
Stone skyscrapers, as you guessed, we called the mountains. But a brick skyscraper Our article featured an unusual residential building, the likes of which you definitely won’t find in the mountains. Typically, a country house appears to us as a 1- or 2-story building with several rooms and a garage. Of course, there are also entire mansions on plots measuring a couple of hectares. But what to do if the area of the local area does not allow your soul to roam, or you simply do not want to spend precious ennobled acres on guest rooms and storage rooms?
The author of this project didn’t think long about solving the problem - if you can’t build wide, let’s build high! He created a slender 5-story house. Thanks to a well-chosen location, the floors not only rise to the sky, but also descend along with the mountainside. The construction of the unusual building was completed only in January 2023, so it is completely new and completely ready for occupation. The layout of this miracle of architectural thought provides:
- 4 bedrooms;
- 3 bathrooms;
- living room with a decorative element in the form of sparkling mountains;
- kitchen with oven and grill
It is recommended to use the room on the top floor as a home theater. A unique atmosphere is created there, so bringing the family together for a pleasant activity will be even more emotionally intense. In contrast to the peace and comfort, on the lowest floor there is an area for parties and gatherings with guests. This is where the kitchen is located with all the amenities for cooking on the grill. No matter what floor you are on, you can enjoy panoramic views of untouched nature from everywhere.
The suburban skyscraper is located 16 kilometers from the center. This is a fairly secluded area with a population of only 1,600 people, so no one or nothing will disturb your holiday. The only negative nuances that realtors pay attention to are the lack of roads and isolation from civilization. But personally, we believe that the second point can be called the key when choosing a house outside the city - investors go into the wilderness precisely for the purpose of being in it.
“No windows, no doors, a room full of people” - Japanese answer to a children's riddle

📍 Shibuya District, Tokyo, Japan 🇯🇵
Both day and night, the Shibuya area is equally bright and noisy. Life here is not just in full swing, but boiling, just like the heads of the local population. In such conditions, proper rest is especially important for a person, so the creators of the project Ellipse House sought to make a quiet a secluded space directly in the center of city life to combine the usual rhythm with a more relaxed one. Architects Masaki Endoh and Mashiro Ikeda decided to make a house that could adapt to the environment. This was made possible thanks to an elliptical prefabricated frame with rings that can change their shape depending on external circumstances and the wishes of the inhabitants regarding the layout.
The exterior decoration of such a house cannot be made of the usual brick or concrete, so we used a plastic material - fiber-reinforced polymer sheets. They easily take on more rounded shapes and bend in the desired directions. The material also meets safety requirements. Due to frequent earthquakes and other natural disasters, high fire safety and water resistance are mandatory for Japanese houses. What lies inside this unusual design:
- apartment No. 1 – 2nd and 3rd floors, basement with workshop;
- apartment No. 2 – 1st and 2nd floors;
- open terrace in the form of a crater.
Each of the residential units has its own separate entrance from the street. The design includes small openings and one large horizontal window to fill the rooms with sunlight. Thanks to the seamless type of assembly and the white color of the walls, this project from 2002 still looks as if it came to us by chance from the 22nd century.
